Leaves

A project circa 2002-ish.

We were supposed to create a composition using organic shapes. It was originally in black and white paper but the black paper is coming unglued on the original. I don't remember why I only used black paper, though.

Anyway, this is about three leaves. The top one is a young leaf, vibrant and strong. The second leaf is older, nurturing and protecting the seed (child). The third leaf has fallen off the branch (died).

Also, the paper cutting on the original was kinda rough. I'm not sure why it was done that way or I have just improved over the years. Either way, I tried to recreate the jagginess here just in case there was some purpose to it. I would have also made the horizontal line at the top into a vertical line and place it in the upper right corner.
